Diagnostics & Check Engine Lights
Check engine light, warning light, noise, or smell? We find the cause first and quote the repair in writing. The $50 basic diagnostic becomes a deposit toward the repair when we do the work.
How Our Diagnostics Work
Basic Diagnostics
Codes, warning lights, noises, smells, and "can you take a look at this" visits are a basic diagnostic — a half hour of technician time for $50 plus tax. We scan the vehicle, confirm what is actually wrong, and give you a written estimate for the repair. If we just diagnose it, the $50 is the charge. If you have us do the repair, the $50 becomes a deposit toward the repair cost and comes off your bill (for very small repairs, a minimum labor charge applies instead).
Advanced Diagnostics
Intermittent electrical faults, wire tracing, module and network problems, and engine deep dives take real time with professional equipment. Advanced diagnostics are billed per hour at our hourly labor rate, in one-hour blocks. We estimate the first block up front, and we never go past what you approved without asking first.
One Deposit, Not Two
The $50 you pay to book a diagnostic visit is the only booking deposit you pay — it carries forward to the repair appointment. Every deposit is credited to your final bill. Full details are on our shop policies page.
Dealership-Trained, Independent-Shop Priced
Most of our technicians come from dealership backgrounds with factory-level training, led by owner Cody Neff on advanced diagnostics and electronic work. We diagnose almost all vehicle issues — electrical systems, drivability, emissions, and more.

Roadside AssistanceCovered warranty repairs include Certified Auto Repair roadside assistance benefits. Towing and rental car help may be available if trouble strikes away from home; ask us for details.
Financing Available
For larger repairs, we offer financing through Synchrony, Snap Finance, Affirm, and Sunbit (Sunbit is available to Ohio and Pennsylvania residents). Ask our service advisors, or see our payment options.
No Work Without Approval
We diagnose, we quote in writing, and you decide. We'll show you the problem on your own vehicle and return your old parts on request.
